Bidding Wars

Monday, April 30, 2012

This past weekend was spent visiting a Hindu Temple, a Mosque, and a Buddhist monastery, as well as running a photo booth at a wedding, and looking for a place to live! I've also been scouring Ebay with the purpose of purchases some new lenses. I've not a really patient person so this whole bidding thing is totally tearing up my nerves! It's too much suspense!

How was your weekend?

City Walk

Sunday, April 29, 2012

I knew that trying to find a new apartment, and some roommates was going to be a challenge, but this is hard yo! I'm confident things will work out in the end. At least I still have my walks in the city : )

Something Familiar

Saturday, April 28, 2012

I had a hankering for something familiar. Something that puts old fears to rest and memories at peace. Falafel. Thank you to the guy who was working last night, and let me do the table for one, please thing and laughed along when I talked about how much I wanted a mocha.

KRT Online Store Launch Party

Friday, April 27, 2012

Just got back from Curran's new online shop launch. Probably some of the best dressed people I've seen in a long time. Quite intimidating, but also inspiring. I definitely need to get past that fear of photographing people I don't know :D But at least I got a few good ones!

The event was held in the Gallery Exquisite in Northern Liberties. Learn more about why Queens inspire Kings.

Kony 2012 Cover The Night Philadelphia

Regardless of how I feel or don't feel about the Kony 2012 campaign, I wanted to head downtown and photograph the event in Philadelphia. If anything it's an interesting study!
You can see more photos here.

Curly Hair And Glasses Everywhere

Thursday, April 26, 2012

So I was feeling a bit artsy today (or lazy) and didn't feel like taking off my little Warby's. It's a pity you can't really see the dress here, since it's absolutely stunning, but when I'm cold, I'm cold, and that sweater just wasn't coming off!

The countdown to graduation is already on and we're more than half way there! I'm swamped with visiting apartments, job interviews, and of course that side matter of maintaining sanity, but soon it will all be over, summer will be here, and I know I'll miss it. So I'm hanging on to those small moments of memories that are so fleeting, and hoping to capture it with my camera. One of these days I'm going to get around to actually printing these photos :D

Philadelphia's Creative Spaces

Wednesday, April 25, 2012

Soooo last night was pretty capital. Were you there? It's events like these, with the people who came, that proves Philadelphia has so much to offer. It was great to see a friendly face, and meet a few new ones!

On the panel (aka, futon) was also GeekadelphiaStreets Dept, and Jump Philly. Three well spoken and humorous bloggers with tons of great advice and anecdotes about what it takes to blog about creative spaces in Philadelphia. The event was hosted by Leah Kauffman, editor of Phrequency.com, at the MOCA from 6-8pm.

But I mean really, what can go wrong when you're wearing a pleated red skirt? At least I was able to answer the questions! I was afraid I would freeze on the futon and forget that I even had a blog. But all went well and all ended well. Happy to live and to love in a place such as this.

It's About To Get Technical

Tuesday, April 24, 2012

I believe I was laughing in these photos because I wasn't quite sure about this outfit. It's more a slub around and do homework kind of outfit, and apparently I thought you might like to see what! I'm sorry for my lapse in judgement....I wore this over the weekend while packing away the hours and hours in homework time. I can't wait to come up from underneath this mountain of homework!

On another note, if you're interested in seeing me in a non-slub outfit, come out tonight to the Blogger's Panel Talk at the Philly Tech Week! I'll be talking (hopefully, that's the plan, unless I freeze from fear) about blogging and photography. There's also some other great Philly bloggers on the panel to discuss culture, blogging, and being a writer in Philadelphia. So come out and say hello! I promise to be your friend forever. But really...forever.

Mr. Dogwood

Monday, April 23, 2012

After years of admiration and dreamy looks, I finally found out the name of these trees! Dogwoods! Ah, what a relief. I also happened to be wearing my favorite dress at the time. If you ever see me out on the street, this is most likely what I'll look like. Camera + bag + cardigan + dress combo works every time.

These photos were taken by one of the most charming places in the city: Boat House Row. Yes, at times it can be a little overpopulated for my taste, but if you juggle things just so you can find the perfect bench that angles you away from the couple making out (do they really have to rub it in?) to the calming water. Who am I kidding, there's a highway right behind it. But really! Do visit, I adore the place and wish I went more.

Creative Commotion 2012

Saturday, April 21, 2012

Sometimes it's really hard to write something about an event that really leaves no words left to be expressed. I wish you had been there. It's truly an honor to be around such talented people. In case you don't know what I'm talking about just hear this and this. Thanks to everyone who came out. It wouldn't have been the same if even just one was missing.
