Style Files: My Classic Trench

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

You know when you find a good classic piece you wear it over and over again?  It's like that with this trench.  Except I haven't worn it in years. Do I usually contradict myself like this? Yes. I'm sorry. Truly, I am.
I LOVE wearing scarves.  I think it's because when my neck gets cold, then the rest of my body gets cold a lot faster. So if I'm bundled up around the neck then its all good : )
Also, in case you're interested, I added two new blog buttons that link back to Streets and Stripes. I have a list of my favorite bloggers to the right as well! So make sure you get to know them, as they all inspire me.

Hope you have a great Tuesday! Do you have any plans?

Style Files: Night On The Town

Monday, November 29, 2010

This is the outfit I wore the other night when I had that night on the town I was talking about. I hung out with Chad and we went to the Olive Garden, then did some Christmas shopping, and the ended the night with some pie and coffee at our favorite cafe. Definitely a good night : )
(This is me running to check the settings on the camera to see how the pictures were turning out...but Chad was still rolling :P).
And as always here is Chad being my stand in while I adjust the settings. He asked me if I wanted to see one of my blog poses and I think he did pretty good! :P
This outfit is inspired by my favorite Marissa from Shades of Monet.  She has the most LOVELY style of them all.  She always wears the cutest doll dresses and wear large bows in her hair...and get this, she works at a school! How awesome is that?  I got this bow at a local store in my town called Love Illuminati. Their store is SO inspiring and they have so many great things. I'll be doing a post on them later so stay tuned!
I also am super proud of this skirt (just look past the wrinkles for a second - I swear I ironed it before I took the pictures). I bought it at Goodwill but it was too long to be flattering, so I hemmed it. It's the first skirt I've ever hemmed (so admittingly the hem lines are super straight) but it's not the last!

Sunday Snippets: My Favorite Looks

Sunday, November 28, 2010

I am constantly starring my favorite posts and favorite outfits in my google reader. I save a lot of style shots for when I need some inspiration and here are just a few of them. It's quite a lot so I've cut this post in half. Click on the Read More link to read the rest. I've included some of my favorite bloggers!
I wish I had a beautiful $5 coat like this one to go with an beautiful print dress and leather boots.
Can you believe this girl is studying politics?  She has such great style. That teal is amazing.
This outfit is my idea of comfy perfection. Oxford shoes + oversized sweater + toggle pea coat + plum tights.
Nicole does this look just right. She has me dying for mustard colored leggings and a candy red dress.

Cast Your Vote!

Okay, I know that I posted yesterday AND I'm posting today (I usually try to stay away from posting on the weekends) but I just want to know what you think!

Can I tell you again how much I appreciate you?  I hope it doesn't seem too much because we're still getting to know each other and all, but in the long run I hope we can become friends : )

While we're figuring out the important stuff (like what's your favorite color and who was your first kiss...you know, life changing stuff) would you mind filling out a little survey for me? I want to work at bringing good content to Streets and Stripes but also want a chance to share what's on my heart. So I thought a survey might help!

Thanks for your input!

Style Files: Ankle Boots and Keeping Warm

Saturday, November 27, 2010

Here is a simple outfit for a busy weekend. I can't believe I have to leave for college again in one day! This break went by so fast. These pictures were taken during the photo shoot for the new cowls (and as you can see I'm wearing one of them). I'm going to miss having more time to take photos! Especially ones in the countryside!
I hope you all had a great time over the weekend! How do you celebrate with your family? Do you have any fun traditions that you do?
Today I have a lot planned! There are TONS of things I didn't get around to doing because of all the business of Thanksgiving, but I need to get my butt to work because I'm heading out for a fun night on the town!

Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!

Style Files: Olivia and Her Mustard Boots

Friday, November 26, 2010

Sometimes I am just so happy with how my outfits turn out. This time was one of them. Also, meet Olivia. I think you two are going to become best friends : ) She's a beauty!
These new boots are my ultimate favorite.  They are me to a T. The mustard color and the almost knee high length is so perfect! Rest assured, they will most likely make a lot of appearances on the blog : ) My mom thrifted them for $18 and they are originally from Rampage.

So how was your Thanksgiving, friends?  This year didn't feel as rushed and frantic as usual because a lot of the cooking was done ahead of time (Thanks, Mom!).

Also don't froget about my Black Friday sale going on today! 10% your ENTIRE purchase with the coupon code BLCKFRIDAY.
