Happy Halloween!

Sunday, October 31, 2010

Most fashionistas take Halloween as a time to dress up and show their styling skills, but I haven't dressed up in YEARS. So I thought I'd give it a try this time around.  My goal was to spend no money at all on the costume. But it was a ton of fun getting dressed :D
Can you guess who I was for Halloween?  Pippi Longstocking! I loved that movie as a kid and when my mom suggested it, I knew it would be a great costume : )

A special thanks goes out to Chad for helping me cut the coat hanger and shape it to my head : ) It's always helpful to have a guy with pliers around!

Shop Update!

Friday, October 29, 2010

This week I added some new items to the shop. Now available is this adorable mini bow as well as the skinny cowl. The skinny cowl comes in all the same colors as the classic cowl collection.

Thanks again for being such great friends and supporting my shop! It means the world.

I hope you all have a great weekend! I can't wait to come back Monday and see what everyone wore for Halloween :)

The day I wore this outfit (yesterday) it was hot and humid and rainy.....in October. I'm not even going to go there today. You all know how I feel on hot-humid-rainy days :D I just can't wait for this weekend! I'm excited to find something to wear for Halloween and hang out with some friends. It's going to be great : )

As you all know, this weekend is Halloween.  What are you planning to be?  I'm at a loss! I can't remember the last time I dressed up for Halloween.  No wait - I think I was 14 and I was an amish girl. Yes, that's what it was. But this year I want to be something that's already in my closet. Any ideas??

Ps - Yesterday I updated the shop. I'll feature some of the new products here tomorrow. Have a great Wednesday! Halfway to the weekend!

For some reason I felt very scholarly in this outfit. Perhaps it was my mary jane Clark's and my button down stripe shirt.

The weather is incredibly hot today.  Seventy five degrees!  We better have an intense winter to make up for all this awfully hot and sticky weather. All year I look forward to cold weather and it's taken WAY too long this time.  Can you tell I didn't get enough sleep last night?  Yeah, sorry about that :D

Hope you have a great Tuesday!

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

Yesterday my parents celebrated their 24th year in marriage. They're a testament that marriage for life is still possible even in today's society that values other things other than commitment and love.
Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!
Here's to many more : )

Style Files: Hoedown

Monday, October 25, 2010

This past weekend my University had a hoedown for the students.  It was a blast! My feet were killing me, but I learned how to line dance to the Peanut Butter Jelly song, Thriller by Michael Jackson, and some other line dances and square dances. Good memories that night, but let's just say that I'm not a natural dancer :D

Sunday was a great day at church. I slept in and then went to a small church in the area.  The great thing was that they were serving lasagna and spaghetti afterwards for college students.  So much better than cafeteria food!

In other news I just checked out my schedule for the next couple weeks and its PACKED.  Including weekends! In some ways I can't wait for this semester to end because that means less stress and more enjoying life, but that also means I won't see a lot of people for a long time since I'll be studying abroad next semester. So I'm trying to keep the memories I have, and make some more before I leave.

I hope you all had a great weekend! Did anything good happen?
