Style Files: What A Wednesday

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

Last semester was kind of dull for me. I didn't have much that I was involved in, and I didn't have any jobs.  Well things certainly have switched up this time around! I have three jobs and I'm involved with so many more things.  Life is certainly more interesting and vibrant now, but I also find myself getting stressed out and just wanting a break. I'm starting to learn how to have a balance. Maybe I could just have one day off of work.  That would be nice, right?

Boots-Delia's, Dress worn as a skit-American Eagle, Socks-Target, Shirt-Target, Cardigan-Target
These pictures were taken Sunday morning.  It was a much needed morning of breakfast with the roomie, and a pretty skirt to wear (that is also a dress). I know you probably think I'm going crazy with turning all my dresses into skirts, but once I get hooked on something I just kind of go with it! :D

Top-Gap, Cardigan-H&M, Folded down dress-Target, Belt-Express, Shoes-Target
Despite the business of this weekend, it was a good one.  My parents and siblings (all but one who is in another state) came up to surprise my sister (who attends the same college as I) for her twenty second birthday. Her birthday isn't until Tuesday but yesterday (Sunday) was a good day to surprise her since the kiddos didn't have school.

On another note, I'm heading to the doctor to get some test done today. Oddly enough, I'm just worried about getting there. I hope I can make my appointment in time and have a car to get me there (I've been having some more car issues as of late). However, I am confident things will work out in the end : ) They always do.

How was your weekend?

Style Files: On My Own

Dress-Target, Skirt-Old Navy, Cardigan-Old Navy, Belt-Express, Shoes-Traget
After I got the clicker {best decision ever} I've been waiting to go out and take pictures by myself that aren't in the apartment. I plan to keep doing this even as winter sets in, but I'm hoping there won't be as many people at the parks to gawk and stare while I'm taking pictures once the weather gets chillier. I know it's strange to see a girl with a tripod posing in strange stances, but this is America and stranger things have happened!

I am SO happy it's Friday. The plans for this weekend include movies, Chick-Fil-A, and work. What are your plans? Anything fun or something you don't usually do?

By the way, I just want to say thank you to One Pearl Button for the sweet shout out and to Cuteable for the shop mention.

Please excuse the strange faces. I'm exhausted. Just got back from job one, and now have to go to job two. I wish you all could text me because I need company later! Have a great night dears : )

Fall Ten Wish List

This is probably the first time I've tried to pull together a wish list for a season. I always have a mental note of things I'd like to get each season but in an effort to conserve money I want to put together a top ten list for each season to help me narrow down the styles I like (this doesn't mean I'll purchase all ten, lets be honest here. It's probably more like one purchase or a down payment on one purchase :D).

Please feel free to share links to your favorite Fall items in the comments!
1. Steve Madden Wedges - I would wear this with my favorite floral dress belted, dark gray tights and a cargo jacket (see number 2).

2. Cargo Coat - I just picked up one last month and I can't WAIT to wear it. I couldn't find an image of it online so here is my second pick - one from American Eagle.
3. Chambray Shirt - It's the perfect picture of American comfortability while staying warm in the winter.
4. Floral Tights - I adore mixing patterns. When I look at my current collection of tights right now all I see is solids, so shaking things up with this floral patterned pair of tights would just feel right : )

5. Cosy Sweaters - This year I especially like the Fair Isle print. I knew it came back last Fall and Winter but I'm going to keep it around a bit longer.
6. Floral Dresses - All of these ones are from Urban Outfitters and something I would buy any day. I still have get to get my hands on a floral dress and it would be awesome to have a cute one just in time for fall.
7. Bow Tie Skirt - I think these bow tie skirts from Mod Cloth add just the right touch of femininity to an outfit. Not to mention I love stripes and I love darker colors!

8. Gray Boots - Honestly, what would fall be without a great pair of boots?  This year I'm really into the gray look and hope to pick up these ones from Target!
9. Sperry's are my new favorite shoe.  They are flats (which is a huge plus to me and my busted ankle) and they are super comfortable and have character. I also like the history they have. I'm torn between the brown and the blue - which do you like?

10. Coats - A good coat is always a must-have for fall and winter. As always I love the selection that Mod Cloth has, but other stores are having some amazing, and more affordable, options!
