Bad Hair Day + Still Sick = Repeat Sweater

Friday, April 30, 2010

First, I really really like these shoes.  There's something about them that is just perfect.  However, they aren't that comfortable : ( Secondly, I would like to apologize for wearing the same sweater two posts in a row.  This just goes to show that I am very human and very much on a budget.  Hope you don't mind : ) But one thing might cheer you up ..... I got this shirt for $3! That should bring a smile to your face!

This weekend should be a good one.  I'm off to spend some time with friends on a cow farm! Good times are sure to come : ) What are your plans for the weekend?

First off, I love this scarf.  It's large, it's colorful, the crazy patterns are GREAT and I got it for three dollars! What more could I want?  I'm also in love with these wedges that I'm wearing.  I got them last weekend while I was at home and I love how supportive they are when I walk.  I still have to break them in but after that I bet they'll feel amazing : )

Photography: Everything Is Coming To Life

Spring time is one of my favorite time to take pictures (besides winter of course :D) because the shade of green is just so amazing. The leaves are still fresh and the color hasn't darkened yet and that's just how I like it.

What's your favorite time to take pictures?

Photography: The Important Things

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

I should do this more often. I think it's really good to get away and remember what's going on in your life and what are the important things.  It's so easy to get caught up in a sequence of events.  Life is painful but it's also filled with joy. And it's times like these that I remember that.

First off let me apologize for the tired smile.  I'm still pretty wiped out from being sick and I'm actually pretty proud of the fact that I got out and took pictures today!  I love the color of the trees and grass in early Spring.  It's so fresh and young looking.  I also love the way the rain darkens the bark on trees.  It makes the colors come alive even more : )

I realize it's been a long time since I've done pictures of an outfit and I actually wasn't planning on taking pictures of this outfit but I realized that this was probably the only day I'd have the chance to take some since this week is pretty homework heavy. So sorry this outfit isn't anything spectacular, but this is what I look like when I'm still on the mend.

Ps - This sweater reminds me of the strawberry candy canes : )

Shared Sugar

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

I never really occurred to me that some of my favorite blogs are food blogs. They always have delicous recipes and great photography so how can I not love them? Shared Sugar just made it to the top of my favorites list and these pictures will let you know why!

Who Doesn't Love Wawa Coffee

Journaling is something I've been doing since I was 11 years old. It's something that helps me keep track of my days, recall important events, and laugh over the funny memories of the past. I don't regret taking the time to write down about each day even if it's just a report on the events of that day and nothing spectacular.
I don't have a great memory which has always been a really sad thing to me. I want to be able to recall funny stories and days I've shared with people but for some reason I just have trouble recalling them. Once I'm reminded of them I remember, but for the process of recalling memories I rely heavily on journals. That's probably why I have so many of them.
I got this cute owl journal for my 20th birthday from my youngest sister Anna.  It means a lot to me because she knows how much I love owls and took the time to find this one (with a lot of help from mom :D) and settled on giving this one to me for my birthday.

It was so nice to get away yesterday and go to the park.  I love rainy days like this.  I hope we have a few more this week before the heat of the weekend comes in.  It might give me the chance to go back to the park in the middle of the day and read.  Although this time I'll make sure to bring a blanket with me : )

At That Moment

Monday, April 26, 2010

There are times when I really do enjoy being alone. Today was one of them. I drove back from home this morning taking the long way through all the quaint little towns and enjoying all the quirky people along the way (as well as the bad drivers). For the most part it was a rainy drive, but towards the end it tapered off. So I decided to head out to a local park before going to my next class.
I love how green everything is in the beginning of Springtime.  It's only that much better after a fresh bout of rain.  It was fun to take my books, journal, and camera along on a quiet walk.  The only other people around were those who had been in love for most of their lives and are now enjoying growing old together. I like being in that kind of company.  It gives me hope in mankind.
Despite the frigid weather, I was able to jot down a few thoughts and take some quick pictures.  After a week + of not even touching a camera it was nice to get back into the habit.  Even though I feel a bit hesitant each time I put pictures up on Streets and Stripes because I am by no means a professional, I still enjoy being the amateur that I am just seeking to remember life at that moment the shot is taken.  I can only hope for that.
